Jednosobni apartman u centru i s parkingom platili smo 65€ noć.

Top 10 atrakcije grada Pafos

1. Tombs of the Kings

Pronađite na njihovim stranicama radno vrijeme, nije isto zimi i ljeti.
Nama je bilo otovoreno: Monday – Sunday • 8.30 – 17.00

Cijena: €2,50 po odrasloj osobi.

Parking ispred besplatan.

2. Kato Paphos Archaeological Park

Pronađite na njihovim stranicama radno vrijeme.
Nama je bilo otovoreno: Monday – Sunday • 8.30 – 17.00
Cijena: €4,50 po odrasloj osobi.

Ovdje ćete moći vidjeti:

Važne spomenike, kazalište, mozaičke podove, rimske kuće Dionysos, Theseus, Aion and Orpheus,  grobnice kraljeva, Odeon, Agoru, pa čak i svjetionik. Ovim gradskim lokalitetima možete pristupiti bliže jedino kroz glavni ulaz u Park.

.

3. Coastal Broadwalk

4. Phapos Harbour Castle

Ulaznica je 2,50 eura. Nema nikakvog sadržaja pa mi nije vrijedno cijene. Dovoljno vam je da ga vidite izvana.

5. Paphos Harbour and Port

6. Paphos Promenade

Prošetajte rivom. Tamo vam vlada pravi turistički đir. Kafići, restorani i dućani suvenirima.

.

7. Katakombe, Fabrica Hill i šetnica iznad ceste

Besplatan ulaz.

Ovdje također imate i dućan igračaka na tri kata. Mi smo ga uspješno zaobišli. Sretno! 😊

Uzeli smo airport pick up – drop off. Ako planirate u Turski dio morate uzeti dodatno osiguranje. Sve smo dogovorili opušteno.

Zato smo organizirali nekoliko cjelodnevnih izleta u okolici Pafosa.

2. Sea Caves vidikovac i šetnica.

.

3. George’s Ranch

Na račnu možete hraniti i jahati konje. Najavite se ako planirate jahati!

.

4. The Akamas National Park

Lara beach

Dom Turtle Conservation Project koji puštaju kornjačice u more u rujnu.

.

6. Baths of Aphrodite, Kremiotis waterfall, Evretou Dam i gradić Kathikas.

8. Holy Monastery of Saint Neophytos

Zanimljiv jer je zapravo samostan u brdu.
Radi od 9 – 16, ulaz slobodan. Ciljajte na zalazak. 😉

9. Pafos Zoo

Cijena ulaznice za odrasle 16,50€. Djeca 8,5€. Do dvije godine besplatno.

2. Omodos selo u srcu Cypriot vinskog puta

4. Kourion – Ancient Ruins – Limassol

Provjerite radno vrijeme. Ulaznica je 4,5€ i ulazite autom.

5. Kurion Beach

Poslušajte to more i pogledajte te stijene.

8. Old Church of Saint Nicholas

Vrlo lako smo je pronašli i možete s autom ravno do nje, a odmah poviše imate i dječje igralište.

9. Archaeological Site of Amathous

Još jedno nalazište koje smo, ovom turom, preskočili.

10. White Rocks – plaža s bijelim kamenjem

Ovaj isti đir možete napraviti i ako noćite nekoliko dana u Limassolu. Razmislite o mijenjanju smještaja ako ostajete više dana. Uštedit ćete na vremenu provedenom na putu i gorivu.

Mi smo preostala noćenja uzeli u Aiya Napi. Turističkom, u post sezoni, sasvim ugodnom mjestu.

.

3. Blue Lagoon

Još jedna plava laguna. Idealno mjesto za cliff jumping ili just watching.

.

5. The Lighthouse in Cape Greco – ako imate vremena prošetajte do njega.

6. Ayioi Anargiroi Church and Cave

.

7. Kap Greco View Point

8. Cyclops Cave

9. Sea Caves

10. Dolfin’s Luna Park

1. Salt Lake

Veliko jezero kojeg smo ulovili u zalasku. Ako imate sreće naletit ćete na flamingose. Mi smo ih pronašli između Hala Sultan Tekkesi i aerodroma.

.

2. Camel Park

€. Ulaznica uključuje korištenje i vanjskog bazena pa ponesite kupaći.

.

3. Staircase of Love

Idealno mjesto za napraviti pauzu od puta.

.

4. Pano Lefkara

Najljepši ciparski mali gradić. Popijte kavu u Το Kafeneio tis Pareas.

.

5. Golden Donkeys Farm

Uključuje amfiteatar, dva mala muzeja, farmu s domaćim životinjama i naravno magarcima. Unutar farme imate restoran i dva dječja igrališta. Nedjeljom imaju posebnu ponudu hrane i ulaznice za obitelji.

.

Where to stay in Berlin?

Hello World!
If you have been following our Instagram stories, you already know we visited Berlin, Germany. If you have Instagram account, you can follow our adventures here-> @dianomaya. Look for the stories in “Highlights”!

Let’s begin our Berlin story with some basics, our accommodation! So where did we stay in Berlin? We were invited for a complimentary stay at “The Amstel House Hostel Berlin”, the friendliest hostel in Berlin. We learned they have been elected the best hostel staff in Europe two times, so we were keen to try that special hospitality.

CHECK IN / OUT

We were convinced how friendly they are right from the start. Upon our arrival we were welcomed by two lovely male receptionist and given instructions about the room, keys, breakfast and the bar. They were also so kind to give us complimentary backpack, with personalized note. I don’t know about you, but we love when accommodations take their time to make you special. Also, I can’t wait for spring to come, to take my new backpack out!

Amstel House Hostel has 24/7 reception, so if we ever needed to ask about Berlin, transport, bike rent, museums or similar, we definitely used that perk. You can find free maps at the reception, along with coupons for Berlin attractions. They also have electronic devices which you can borrow, towels you can rent and hygiene products you can buy. What else do you need?

ROOM

Oh, yes, you need a room! They offer a different room types and beds, such as private, single, double, twin, dormitories, family rooms, etc. Some rooms have private bathroom, some are with shared ones. We got a private twin room with shared bathroom. Shared shower and toilet was just door to ours, so it made life easier. We also had little sink in our room, which is a very nice add on. Our beds were so cozy, it was hard to leave them in the morning 🙂

BREAKFAST

We always include breakfast in our room booking, partial because I am obsessed with buffet breakfast (there is something very special about other people making breakfast for you) and secondly because it is easier to explore the “big city life” on a full stomach. What is special about Amstel House breakfast is their vegetarian and vegan selection, which I noticed right away, as I don’t eat meat.

BAR

The heart of the Amstel House is their 24/7Bar. We would come to Hostel after dinner and to avoid feeling like we missed the night in the city, by staying in our room, we went down to the bar to hang out. Hanging out at the bars is always the best. You get to met Hotel staff, ask about what to do in the city and meet new interesting travelers, which has always been our luck! Do you have a story from the Hotel bar’s?

It is safe to say we liked the bar area the best. We would hang out and relax with our cold beers, after the long walks in the city.
One thing we, unfortunately, didn’t get to use was their cool game room. It sure looks like a lot of fun, so maybe next time 🙂

LOCATION AND TRANSPORT

Amstel House is located in Moabit, in the district of Mitte, which is very well connected by public transportation. S-Bahn and bus stop is 5 min walk from the Hostel and with TLX fast bus, you are only a few minutes from the historical center. We bought a day ticket from local store (right at the bus stop) which gave us access to all public transport.

That sums up our accommodation experience. If you decide to book a stay with them, hope you will have as much fun in Amstel House Hostel as we did.

You can find them here:
Facebook: Amstel House
Instagram: Amstel House

And for Amstel House Hostel team, if you are reading this, thank you for your hospitality, you are really the best!

In our next blog -> “Top things to see in Berlin”. Talk to you then 🙂

Where to stay in Budapest?

Hello World!

We are in Budapest again!!! We have had visited it before (Budapest 2016 blog) and it became one of our favorite European cities. This time we were more focused on where to stay than what to visit. But, don’t worry I will also write about Budapest TOP attractions in next blog. So, don’t forget to follow, like, etc., etc…

If you have been following us on social media, you know we are on Winter Road Trip for a week already and we needed a good place where we can really rest.
I remember, last time we were booking accommodation in Budapest, I spent days on the Internet, Booking.com & Airbnb, trying to figure out where to stay. We didn’t know, at the time, that Buda side is on hill, with very quiet & romantic vibe, and that Pest side is actually much closer to historic sites, restaurants, shopping areas and the nightlife. It was all very confusing, but now we know and you know!

We needed “home away from home” so we reached out to Fraser Residence, one of the most famous aparthotels, in Budapest. Their hotel manager, Mr. Alain Goetschel, has kindly given us Two Bedroom Apartment, on 7th floor of the building. Before we start going into the details, let me tell you that this is the biggest apartment we ever stayed in!

DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1578

So, apartment is, like I said, very spacious and equipped with dining and kitchen areas. In the kitchen we found everything we needed: fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle, dishes and even a washing machine with washing liquid.
We received welcome fruit platter, still & sparkling water and some juices from Alain, so we decided to sit down and refresh in the dining area first. Btw. that table can easily fit a group of six adults.

DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1602
DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1600

Living area has a home entertainment system, but we used it mostly for our “laptop club”. It is a perfect place to get some work done, if you are working remotely, as we do. Getting comfortable on the couch, editing videos while watching “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” on TV, those were our goals!

DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1607
DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1595

In our rooms we had comfy beds and plenty of storage space. I found bathrobes and slippers in our closet. I also found a safe box there, not like you need it, but some people feel safer to put their belongings in a safe place.

DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1582

We had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in our apartment. Apartment was definitely big enough for 6 adults. Each bathroom had it’s own bathtub and L’Occitane bathroom amenities (shower gel, body milk & shampoo and conditioner) replaced daily. We used only one bedroom, obviously, as we are a couple. However, decided to each have our own bathroom. My own private bathroom? I felt like super star!

DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1590

In apartment you can also find a washer and dryer machine, walk in closet, hairdryer, iron & ironing board and it has daily housekeeping service. Everything was so nice and clean! Every day, we would walk out on our balcony and enjoy the view from our 7th floor. Oh, I didn’t mention our apartment has a balcony? Yes, it does!

DCIM111MEDIADJI_0002.JPG
DianoMaya_Fraser_Budapest-1611

Fraser Residence has 24/7 reception, hotel parking spaces and, let’s not forget, everyday breakfast. It is located very close to the Corvin Plaza and Mall, where you can find exchange office, to change your money into Hungarian Forint (you will need those) and find wide range of restaurants, from Hungarian Bistro and Burger & Hummus bar, to Sushi place.

So, if you are looking for a luxury apartments, your “home away from home”, Fraser is the best choice! Let me just remind you that we are not paid to say this. We really had the best stay and enjoyed great hospitality in this aparthotel.

DCIM111MEDIADJI_0005.JPG

Corvin Quarter, where Fraser is located, is a trendy area. However, to get to the old town you need to jump on a tram & train. To get to Chain Bridge, take Train M3, then switch to Tram 2 route, which offers a nice scenic ride around city’s top locations. Well…we will talk about that more in our next blog.

Trogir, wonderful little “Medieval charmer”

Hello world!

We are in Trogir, just few kilometers from Split, our hometown. We have several friends who live there (remember Maja & Milan from Drvenik Mali story?), but still we don’t visit it enough and we need to change that, because it is gorgeous seaside city!

Let me tell you why we think you should put Trogir on your “bucket list”.

TrogirCroatia_DianoMaya-1166347

Trogir is UNESCO heritage city which, I heard, people call “little Venice”, “Museum-city” and many other names. I call it “Medieval charmer” :).
It is 30 minute car drive from Split city (please note, in summer there are huge traffic jams towards Trogir, so sometimes it takes 1 hour or more to reach city). Town is located on island, but bridges connect it to mainland.

It is small city, so it can be included even in the fastest schedule. You can literally walk it in 30 minutes, but don’t. If you are planing to stay in town over night, you can easily find affordable accommodation.

START at The Land Gate (Kopnena Vrata) and get lost in “street maze“! While walking trough alleys you will bump into most unexpected beauty of stone arches & walls, colorful doors and charming Mediterranean courtyards.

TrogirCroatia_DianoMaya-1166278
TrogirCroatia_DianoMaya-1166301

Find your way to Trogir Cathedral (Katedrala Sv. Lovre). Apparently, the best views of the city are from tower of St. Lawrence Cathedral. We didn’t get a to chance to see it, but if you did, let us know (in comments below) if that is true!
Instead, we hung out with our friend Marina on Main Square. It was Christmas time, therefore it was accordingly decorated.

TrogirCroatia_DianoMaya-1166318
TrogirCroatia_DianoMaya-1166320

You exit city walls trough “porta civitatis” to waterfront promenade. You will find most spectacular boats and yachts docked at the promenade. In summer time, plenty family-owned restaurants and taverns open their doors for most amazing gastronomical experience. You can walk promenade in 5 minutes, from one end to other. At the end, rises beautiful Kamerlengo castle which was, unfortunately, closed.

TrogirCroatia_DianoMaya-1166347
TrogirCroatia_DianoMaya-1166563

If you have car & time, go to the Trogir Marina, from where you can get perfect city landscape photos. Aim to get there in “golden hour” 🙂

We rated Trogir as a perfect town for Instagramers. What do you think?

The Best Christmas Market in Europe

Hello world!

We were in Zagreb, visiting friends, family and the Best Christmas Market in Europe.

It was raining most of the time we were there so this will be short overview – let’s call it “our top 10 places to visit in Zagreb Advent”.

1. Caffe de Matoš

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166108
Caffe de Matoš is located on Strossmayer’s Promenade in Gornji Grad (Up town), with simple theme – love. So many special little “love” details can be found all around. Talk a walk with your “better half” and remember “What happens in Zagreb, stays in Zagreb” 🙂

2. Marićev passage

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166057
One more new part of Zagreb Christmas Market is “Marićev prolaz”. It is decorated with white twigs and twinkling lamps creating a magical fairy tale tunnel. It was still under construction when we were there, we are sure it is more magical now.

3. Advent in Klovićevi

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166085
The best view of the city is definitely Advent in Klovićevi dvori on the Gradec plateu. It offers gastro experience and free concerts; who doesn’t want those?

4. Tesla – Mind from the future

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166231In Meštrović Pavilion you can find amazing exhibition “Nikola Tesla – Mind from the Future”. It was a great hideout from rain, but also unique audio-visual  experience. Don’t miss: room with Tesla’s “brain-computer interface” device. That device changes color and sound, depending on your brain activity. Diano had green color (creativity & relaxation), I had red (full brain activity), what was yours?

5. Tunnel Grič

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166167
I promised I will find some fun facts about this tunnel, so here it goes…
It was built in World War II to serve as bomb shelter. The tunnel was renovated and opened to the public in 2016, as a tourist attraction. During Advent in Zagreb it shows old Zagreb Up Town street, from Charles Dickens era. Honestly, it reminded us of Strasbourg (BLOG). You can enter Grič Tunnel from Mesnička, Ilica and Radićeva street.

6. Fuliranje

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166037This is a name of a popular Advent gathering, which moved this year to Strossmayer square. We were very hungry once we got there, so we dived into innovative food it offer. Diano tried “street sarma” (stuffed rolled cabbage leaves in bread), I got “fritula” (basically apple pie with pudding). Of course, we poured mulled wine on top of all 🙂

7. Zrinjevac park

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166047Zrinjevac is one more place to stop by for food and drink, but also handcrafts and souvenirs.

8. Main square Market

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166066
In front of Johann Franck club, every year, they set up another Advent place where you can find food & drinks. Main square offers entertainment program for children during the day and free concerts for evening program. Behind Johann Franck building you will walk into Advent on Europski square, which is much smaller this year.

9. Tomislavac Ice park

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1155949The Ice Park on King Tomislav square is apparently the biggest ice rink in this part of Europe. Definitely wish we had more time and better weather to try it!

10. Advent na Strossu

Zagreb Advent_DianoMaya-1166109

We hope our journey will help you plan your trip to Zagreb. It would be great if you can share this with your friends, so more people can learn about Zagreb Advent.

What Camera do We Use for Vlogs?

Hello world!

We shot “Camera Gear” video while we were in Strasbourg, France. It was something completely different for us and we had so much fun, as you can see in video 🙂

In the beginning we had iPhone 5 and shot amazing timelapses with it.

Very soon we bought GoPro 3 Black and filmed our trip to Thailand & Cambodia.
WARNING BEFORE WATCHING:

* Music on these videos is horrible!! This was before we learned about “No copyright music”. Would you like us to do video “How we pick music for our videos?”.

Later we transferred to GoPro 4 Silver, which we use still today and highly recommend.

Big part of our “Camera Gear” family was, and still is, Canon 700D. Most photos on our Instagram account are taken with this camera. Are you following us on Instagram jet?

So, we had regular camera, iPhone and underwater camera. Only thing missing was areal camera! We decided to buy GoPro Karma, but at the time was pulled out of the market, so we ended up buying DJI Mavic Pro. Maya has love/hate relationship with it. Let’s be clear, you have to love it because it can shot 4K areal photography, period. However, it does have mind of his own and lot of little glitches.

New baby in our family is Lumix GH5! We spent all our savings on this camera and we think it was totally worth it! Don’t you?

Layover in Stuttgart, Germany

Hi world!

We are in Stuttgart, Germany, for one afternoon. We flew in from Split with Eurowings and had 4 hour layover on our journey, so we decided to explore the city!

DianoMaya_stuttgart-1144648

How to get to Stuttgart Main train station?

From Stuttgart Airport (Flughafen), we took S2 – Stadtbahn/metro (you can also take S3) to the city Main train station (Hauptbanhof). The journey takes about 30 minutes. You need a ticket for 3 zones which costs € 4.00 for adults and € 1.90 for children from 6 up to 14 years. The price of a day ticket for 3 – 4 zones is € 16.40, this card can be used with five persons.

What to do in Stuttgart?

We started our Stuttgart “layover adventure” in Koenigstrasse, street of million shops and street performers, and walked to Palace Square (Schlossplatz). On Schlossplatz we found gorgeous Palace, fountain and monument, with benches & grass and did little shoot for @yato_by_hp, Croatian handmade necklace brand.

From Schlossplatz, we went behind Kunstgebäude building to Schlossgarten, another beautiful Palace Park with lake, fountain and Opera House.

If you want  to take Instagram worthy picture from Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz go to Kunstmuseum. Museum looks like huge glass cube. There are stairs right below it, which offer great Square view. Thank you Pippa for being our personal photographer!

DianoMaya_stuttgart-1155066
DianoMaya_stuttgart-1155058

Entrance to the Kunstmuseum “glass cube” building is free and there is bar on top floor. There you can get “glass bird view” of the Square.
Museum entrance is within building and they charge entrance fee separately. We, unfortunately, didn’t have time to visit.

DianoMaya_stuttgart-1155098

We decided to finish our “layover” in Stuttgart Bibliothek, unfortunately, it was closed.

DianoMaya_stuttgart-1155106

All in all, Stuttgart is a wonderful place and great for “layover adventure”. If you have 4 hours in the city use it!

We are off to Strasbourg, see you next week! In meantime you can:

The content here was done only with mobile phone.

On island Hvar, we arrived in Stari Grad. It was very late, so we had dinner in the city.
Our pick was cozy little tavern called “La Gitana“, recommended by my friend Tea. The food was amazing and it’s host, Mateo, wonderful! He welcomed us to island with couple shots of rakija and good time.

We booked lovely Pension Tamaris in Sveta Nedjelja on south side of island Hvar. There isn’t much to do in Sveta Nedjelja and we wanted just that – do nothing. We ended up doing so much of “nothing”, so keep reading :).

Sveta Nedjelja

In the morning we had coffee in our Pension with a million dollar view.

Hvar island_dianomaya-9572

We went for a walk around the village. This picturesque place by the sea is famous for Zlatan otok Marina, Restaurant and under sea wine cellar.

When in Sveta Nedjelja, you cannot miss the Lučišća beach. Take a swim in crystal clear turquoise blue sea.

Pitve

We had late lunch/early dinner in “Dvor Duboković Tavern” in village Pitve, typical Dalmatian village with stone houses, narrow paved streets and untouched nature.

City of Hvar

After dinner, we drove to city of Hvar for a drink. There isn’t much to say about Hvar, that I haven’t already. City has so much beauty and history, on one hand, and crazy night life, on the other. It is also the most expensive city on island, so come “money prepared”.

Gromin Dolac

Having a car on island Hvar is an amazing thing. You wake up in the morning and just pick one, of many beautiful beaches, for your morning swim. This time we drove (and walked) to Gromin Dolac beach. From Zavala the dirt road leads east towards the village of Gromin Dolac. We found a parking in the woods and walked to series of perfectly clean, azure blue beaches.

Hvar island_dianomaya-9657
Hvar island_dianomaya-9664

We were alone for hours, just enjoying quiet crickets song, smell of pine forests and the calm beauty of Adriatic sea. Only thing that was able to move us from that beach was HUNGER :).

Vrbovska

We hoped in car and drove to Vrbovska for lunch. Food was horrible, skip Konoba Lem, but city is lovely.

Hvar island_dianomaya-9669

Basina bay

Last night in Hvar, we bumped into my friend Žile, remember him from our Escape blog? He invited girls to see Escape, so after lunch, he & Monga picked us up with boat in Basina bay and drove us to hidden Escape location. Girls loved it!

When I reflect on this trip, I have a feeling like we were on Hvar for a month, but in reality it was just 2 days. Having 2 days off, sometimes, it is all the time you need to recharge.

Call your friends right now and organize trip to Hvar! Take a car and visit several places, like we did. If you have questions about how to get to certain beach, food cost or tips for car transport, hit us down with question in comments. I would love to help you!
